Pool renovation

Renewal of lining, plumbing and equipment in existing pools. We have renovated 350 pools to date.

Diagnosis first

We do not start a renovation by stripping the lining. First we look at why the pool needs renewing: is water being lost, is the shell cracked, is the problem the lining or the waterproofing beneath it. A renovation built on the wrong diagnosis comes back to the same place a season or two later.

Water loss

If a pool is losing water the source may be a tile joint, the waterproofing or the pipework. Re-lining without locating the leak hides the problem rather than solving it.

What gets renewed

Lining and joint renewal, overhaul of the waterproofing, coping replacement, inspection of the pipe runs and equipment renewal. Renewing only the failed layer, rather than the whole pool, is usually enough.

Experience

We have completed 350 pool renovations to date. Renovation is a different job from new construction: you have to work without damaging what is already there, and every pool carries its own history.

Duration

The schedule depends on scope. A lining renewal and a renovation that also takes in waterproofing and pipework do not finish in the same time; we give a duration once the scope is clear after the survey.
